ABOUT US: PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

July/August 2006

Airlines are an extremely capital intensive business, and I am pleased to report that Canadian North’s ownership group has been very supportive of the large scale capital needed to generate an all jet fleet throughout the North. You don’t have to look very far to find evidence of this fact. Since 2005, Canadian North has completely revamped the interior of our aircraft, added several technological and communication enhancements to the 737 fleet and purchased an all passenger 737 aircraft. Also, just this month, the board of directors approved the purchase of a multi-million dollar Fokker 100 jet aircraft to increase capacity and replace the F-28 jet.

The F-100 joined the fleet at the end of May, 2006. It is a very fast, fuel efficient, and quiet jet. A few modifications were made in the main cabin; we decreased the number of seats from 108 to 105, and we’ve added a baby change table and a defibrillator.

In recognition of the contributions made by Pat Napachee Lyall who passed away October 24th, 2005, the F100 registration mark will be C-GPNL in his honour. Pat was instrumental in guiding the airline into a positive and progressive direction through the many positions he held. In addition to many other roles, he was chairman, vice chairman, and director of the Nor Terra group from 1985 to 2003 and holds the distinction of being the longest serving director.

We are proud to have the F-100 join our fleet. This F-100 purchase would not have been possible without the 100% backing of our 100% aboriginal ownership group as well as the support of each of our customers.

Thanks and welcome aboard!

Tom Ruth
