Corporate Soul
A strong sense of corporate soul is
an important cornerstone of the
Canadian North strategy. This is not
just an organizational philosophy, but
also something that grows from our
ownership group. Take a number of
people passionate about the airline
industry in the north and couple it
with an ownership group who instills
a sense of pride and communitymindedness
and you’ve got a group
of people who are providing an
essential service … with corporate soul.
Giving back to the community
is a natural fit for Canadian North,
considering we have been doing
business in the north for over 75 years. The
initial reason the Inuit from
Nunavut and the Inuvialuit from the Western
Arctic got together to buy
Canadian North, a legacy airline, was to
provide a vibrant competitive
airline service for their people, and all
northerners. That initial mandate
has now expanded to include jets flying
across 40% of Canada’s
landmass.
Whether it’s providing an essential service
or supporting a community’s
health and wellbeing, we are proud to be an
example in social
consciousness. Music, art, sports, health
and wellness and educational
opportunities all enrich a community. At
Canadian North we have
developed a Community Support Program that
allows us to provide
support and sponsorship so northerners and
all the communities where
we fly can achieve their goals and dreams
through community-building
events and activities. Canadian North is
proud to say that over the
years we have provided millions of dollars
in community sponsorship
and support.
The following is a list of just a few of our
sponsorships since January:
Rotary Club, Northern Arts and Culture
Centre, Wish Foundation,
Mackenzie Gas Pipeline Youth Workshop, Inuvik Oil and Gas Bonspiel,
Yellowknife Aurora Festival, Norman Wells
Bonspiel, Canadian Idol,
Food First Foundation, Cambridge Bay Hockey
Tournament, Iqaluit
Toonik Tyme – and that’s just during the
beginning of the year!
We hope that your experience with our
customer service agents, flight
attendants or one of our sales staff not
only exceeds your expectations,
but also provides a glimpse into our
corporate soul. We live and
breathe it everyday.
Welcome aboard!
